Apply, apply, apply! (Why persistence pays off with house parties and product reviews!)

If you've been reading this blog for awhile now, you've heard of BzzAgent, Smiley360 and House Parties. I try to apply for each new mission and opportunity, and it's really paid off! In fact, two recent examples have me super-excited, so please indulge me:

Just last month, I applied to host a Keurig Vue house party. Now, I've only been selected for one house party in my entire history of applications, and it was a super-fun Hasbro game night party. I received a bunch of board games, plus an assortment of party supplies and coupons. We had a blast!

So, you can imagine my excitement after many recent, unaccepted applications to learn I've been chosen to host a Keurig Vue party! Check out this swag:

I'm pretty stocked, to say the least. I love coffee, and I've always wanted to try a Keurig brewer. Score!

If you're interested in hosting a party and sharing your honest opinions of products, be sure to head over to HouseParty.com and start applying! Each application just takes a few minutes to fill out a survey, and you're set. You can increase your chances through social media sharing, etc., though I've never had the extra time for that. House Party will then inform you if you've been selected! There are currently applications available for Gevalia, Soy Vay, Bic Soleil and Atkins.

The other product review I have to gush about is the new BzzAgent mission for the Draftmark Tap System. It's like a personal beer tap for your refrigerator! I can't wait to try it out, and I'm thinking it will be a big hit at future parties. Through BzzAgent, I'm also trying out got2B hair products, Children's Claritin and Private Selection desserts, and that's just in the past month!

I guess what I'm trying to say with this post is that persistence pays off. If freebies and fun, new products are your thing, you should join BzzAgent and Smiley360 right now. Once you've joined, the opportunities to test products will start rolling in. Then, apply away. You likely won't be accepted to every mission or party (I certainly am not!), but you'll be surprised by how many freebies you'll score within a year, all for giving your honest reviews.

Here are a few of my tips for bettering your chances at scoring reviews:
  • Be as informative about yourself in your profile as possible (or as much as you are comfortable with). From your kiddos' ages to your job to your likes and dislikes. Every little bit helps these companies fit you with the right missions.
  • Keep on top of surveys. New surveys are popping up all the time, and they are often directly correlated to upcoming missions. Promptly filling out these surveys increases the odds you'll be invited to the newest missions!
  • Share, share, share. From your social media accounts, blog, email, telephone or face-to-face, be sure to spread the word about what's going on, and then report back when you do. These aren't called "WOM" (word of mouth) sites for nothing, and they love when you chat about the products you get to test.
  • Take photos and upload them, when possible. It's a great way to boost your scores!
  • Have fun, and enjoy the victories. Don't get hung up on what you aren't getting to test out, and instead, be pleasantly surprised when something is sent your way!

I'd love to hear about what great product reviews you've scored, from your all-time favorites to what's been happening so far this year!
