This is the same carseat we've used for all three kiddos (currently for my newly two-month-old!), and it truly was worth every penny... and it was around $200 at Babies "R" Us! It's one of the rare carseats that can handle a child up to 30 lbs., which means you will get a ton of use out of it and won't need to upgrade to another seat for awhile.
When we were taking the hospital-provided carseat saftey class for our firstborn, I asked the instructor which seat she would buy. Without hesitation, she recommeded this Chicco.
