my Franz Bakery Outlet adventure!

I've never stepped foot into a bakery outlet until today, but man, did I make out like a bandit! I've posted several deals to bakery outlets recently (Oroweat, Franz), and decided it was time to use one of the vouchers I'd purchased. I paid $5 for a $10 voucher to Franz Bakery Outlet, and the location nearest me was only a 20 minute drive. Not bad, and check out what I scored:
  • (2) packages of English muffins
  • 1 package of Sweet Onion hamburger buns
  • 1 package of whole-wheat hamburger buns
  • 1 package of whole-wheat hot dog buns
  • 1 loaf of Steel Cut Oat sandwich bread
  • 1 loaf of Big White bread (our favorite for French Toast; a rare treat)
  • 1 package of seriously giant sub-sandwich "Tetons" (I'm thinking these will be perfect for lunch when we're camping)
  • 1 package of chocolate-covered donut holes (4th of July treat)

...and I only paid $0.36 after the voucher! That works out to only $0.59 per item when you factor in the cost of the voucher. Seriously, $0.59 each?!

Granted, many of these items were on the "Super Deals" shelf in the back, which means they're expiring soon (July 5th, mostly). Since I'm already planning on freezing all but one loaf of bread, package of English muffins and the donuts, I could care less about the expiration dates. It's just nice to know I'll have the buns necessary for a last minute BBQ and some extra breads on hand, just waiting to be thawed!

If you ever see a deal for your local bakery outlets, I highly encourage you buy one or several, because you're going to get a screamin' deal compared to grocery store prices!
