new series: Kid-Friendly Juicing!

That right there is a probably the biggest, single produce purchase I've ever made. I'm 99.99% certain my family would not be able to go through all of that before it went bad. I've tried to use the bag of kale alone, twice now, before it started going south, and couldn't finish it off.

That's where juicing comes in. I'm mostly sure we will finish this pile off by Wednesday, which means we'll be upping our fruit and veggie intake by... a lot. So, I bit the bullet and bought a Costco membership, since I'm certain their produce prices will most often beat the grocery store prices apart from sales. This is just our maiden voyage, so I'll have a better understanding of how often we'll need to make a produce run to Costco. I'm thinking once every two weeks, but we'll see.

This weekend, I'd like to start a series on the Kid-Friendly Juicing Adventure of 2012. I'm really new to it all, but I figured I could share what I'm learning along the way with you all, along with my two, taste-testing kiddos. Look for the first post tomorrow, all about how my Jack LaLanne juicer and I are becoming best buds.

Before all of that, you should probably watch this documentary. My awesome mother-in-law asked us to watch this movie with her, and it's how all of this started for us. It may just inspire you to start juicing as well!
