Holy guacamole! I made out like a bandit at the Just Between Friends Consignment Sale this weekend, and as promised, I've got the totals and pictures to prove it! I shopped twice; everything was full-price the first day and I went again today for the 50% off sale. Consignors can choose to allow their clothing to go for half-price during the final day of the sale, and since I also consigned some stuff, I was able to hit the 50% pre-sale! Here's the breakdown of everything I purchased {all clothing but one shirt was a size 3-4 T for my oldest son}:
Blue-striped sweater, $5
The Children's Place button-up shirt, $1.50
White and gray-striped sweater, $3
Swim trunks, $3
Carters shorts, $2
Carters shorts, $2
GAP jeans, $6 (These are a really nice, which is why I was ok paying full price!)
OskKosh jeans, $3
Gymboree jeans, $4
Darth Vadar shirt, $2 (Couldn't pass it up!)
Snow bib overalls, $5 (Such a good deal!! Planning ahead for next winter.)
...and, since we were late to hop on the XBox bandwagon (we just purchased on during Black Friday sales last year), we've been looking for a the right price to buy Rock Band gear. Only $35 for a brand-new set of drums and microphone (the drums alone go for $129 on Amazon!)
Total from Day 1: $72.50
Now, the real fun begins! I purchased the Plum District deal here, but at checkout, I found out that it wasn't intended to be combined with the 50% off promotion. So while I didn't get the $15 for $10, but they did take $10 off my purchase to cover the cost. The kind people of JBF also gave me a $10 Plum District promo code, so I actually came out ahead in the end!
Here are the sweet deals I scored at 50% off:
Long-sleeve shirt, $1.50
Oilily shorts, $3
OshKosh t-shirt, $1.50
Sonoma polo shirt, $1
WSU basketball jersey, $2.50 (Go Cougs!)
Quicksilver button-down shirt, $3.75 (I actually really wanted to just up and pay full price for this shirt the first day, and was excited to see it still on the rack!)
Motorcycle shirt, $2.50
OshKosh Pajama set, $2 (Seriously, it's like new!)
Pocket-style bib, $0.75 (Love these!)
Band Hero, $2.50 (Never opened, and now we can play our new drums!)
Cars bedding set, including duvet, fitted and cover sheets and pillowcase, $6 (Like it's never been used!)
OshKosh leather shoes, $1.75
Diadora soccer/baseball cleats, $5.25 (In amazing shape, and I'm planning ahead for when my kiddo will start sports. I figured I'd pay a lot more full-price.)
Cars swim trunks, $1.50
Insulating black-out curtains, $7 (So excited I got such a good price on these!)
{-$10 for the Plum District deal}
Total Day 2: $32.50
Everything combined, I spent a total of $105. Considering that Rock Band accounted for $35 of that, I really got a great deal on all of that clothing, which will keep my ever-growing 3-year-old set for the year. The curtains were on our list of things to buy anyways, and I was thrilled to give my Cars super-fan a bedding set of his dreams. Since I'm also consigning, I have made nearly $40 in sales so far, too!
If you shopped a JBF sale recently, I'd love to hear what deals you found! I hope this gives you at least a taste of what you can find at these consignment sales. I definitely encourage you to attend the next sale near you, no matter your kiddos' ages!
{Oh! I almost forgot these Lightning McQueen Crocs. Needless to say, they were a winner and my son has been wearing them non-stop (hence, the dirtiness). A well-spent $3!}
I was not paid to write this review and all of the opinions are my own.
