I'm a little obsessed with Pinterest. Ok, a lot! I think it's because I'm big on DIY projects. Not only do you save a ton of money when you re-purpose/create/update household items and decorations, you're always left with a one-of-a-kind piece to show off with pride!
If your Thanksgiving table setting needs a little creative boost minus the precious pennies, here are a couple of candle holder ideas using items you may just have lying around the house anyways! {Please pardon the quality of the photo; it's just my camera phone.}
1) Take one large tumbler/hurricane and place one smaller tumbler/hurricane inside. Fill the space between the tumblers or hurricanes with wine corks (I've saved the cork from *almost* every bottle of wine my hubby and I've enjoyed since being married.) Place a candle inside the smaller tumbler/hurricane and you're set!
2) Do you have any Glade or similar-sized candles almost finished? Well, once the candle is completely used, clean that glass jar and re-purpose it! I purchased a small bundle of long twigs from the Dollar Store (you could just gather twigs from around your house instead), snapped them to fit the jar, used a glue gun to affix the twigs and voila! Place a little tea light inside and you have a fun, nature-inspired candle holder to enjoy for years to come!
{Speaking of Pinterest, you'll notice the new "Pin It" button at the bottom of each post. If you see something you like and care to share, go ahead and Pin It!}
