Zaycon has a new produce opportunity: Gala apples for $0.75/lb! Considering the cheapest price I've seen for these apples is $0.99/lb. on sale (they usually cost $1.99/lb.), this is a pretty decent deal!
The apples will come in two, 20 lb. boxes, so this is probably a good deal to split with a friend or two. Orders must be placed by April 19, and pick-up dates begin April 22. Here are the details:
• Grown in the Yakima valley area of Washington State
• Stored in highly-controlled (low oxygen, optimal temperature) environment to ensure freshness—the CRISP and FRESH equivalent of having been just picked off the tree and brought directly to you
• Harvested by Valicoff Family Farms—one of Washington's premier orchards for over 100 years
• Comes in 2 (two) 20-lb boxes (see picture above)
• Apples are of assorted sizes (similar to how they are picked from the tree)
You will first need to register with Zaycon (click the blue "Register" button) to check for availability in your area. By registering, you will be updated on future events, including grass-fed beef and farm-fresh chicken!
If you're not familiar with Zaycon, you can check out my post here about a recent chicken sale. Zaycon offers stock-up prices meats and produce, and I was very pleased with my chicken purchase. The pick-up experience was easy, but arrive as early as possible so you aren't stuck in a long line (I learned that one from experience!).
Applesauce parties, anyone?
