how to (almost) always get something for free at Target!

...and, no, I'm not advocating shoplifting!

Meet the Target travel-size aisle, your coupon collection's new best friend. It's full of fun toiletries and the like, and all for around a $1.00. You can usually find this aisle near the pharmacy.

Some manufacturer coupons exclude travel sizes, but most use the wording "$____ off any _____ product." Combine these coupons with Target coupons, and your cart is suddenly full of free stuff! Your diaper bag (and consequently, your future-tense self) will thank you.

Tonight, I paid only $12.56 for all of this.

Here's what I bought and the coupons I used (with the travel section items listed first):

(2) Shout "Wipe & Go" packs, travel size, $0.97 each
Used two $0.55 off any Shout product (1/9 SS) and two $0.50/1 Target coupons (found under "Household")

Sensodyne Toothpaste, travel-size, $0.99
Used the $0.75/1 coupon (1/2 RP)

(2) Maalox, 65 count, on sale for $3.79 each
Used two $5.00 off any size Maalox coupons (1/9 SS)

(2) Up&Up Pantiliners, 22 count, $0.89 each
Used two $0.50/1 Target coupons (under "Healthcare" or "Personal Care")

(4) Carefree To-go Pantiliners, 22 count, $0.99 each
Used four $0.50/1 coupons (1/9 SS)

(2) Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara, on sale for $3.14 each
Used two $1.00/1 manufacturer coupons (found under "Personal Care"; will print twice) and two $2.00/1 Target coupons (under "Beauty")
*Note: You could also use this $2.00 off any Rimmel mascara Facebook coupon. I had already used mine.

(3) GE Reveal 75 watt light bulbs, pack of four, on sale for $2.00 each
Used three $1.00/1 coupons (1/9 SS), two $1.50/1 and one $1.00/1 Target coupons (under "Household")

(2) Finish Quantum Powerball Dishwaher Detergent, 10 count, on sale for $2.99 each
Used two $1.00 off any Finish Quantum (1/23 SS) and two $1.50/1 Target coupons
*Note: The Target coupon says "12-count or higher," but my store didn't carry a 12-count package and the register took the coupon without a beep.

Up&Up Laundry Detergent, 50 fl. oz., on clearance for $3.38
Used the $0.75/1 Target coupon

Humidifier filter, $6.64
(The only item I didn't have a coupon for, but I have a congested kiddo, so what can you do?)

Total before coupons: $44.53, plus $2.63 tax
Total coupons used:  $34.60**
Total out of pocket: $12.56

Even if you are lacking some of the SS or RP* coupons listed above, the Target coupons still give you great deals! Happy shopping!

**Target coupon policy allows for one manufacturer and one Target coupon per item. I actually had coupon "overage" in this transaction, meaning the value of the coupon(s) was greater than the item's price. Target states that the "coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied," so whether overage is granted or not depends upon the cashier. Often, they will gladly allow it, because Target is reimbursed by the manufacturer for the full value of the coupon regardless. You can read Target's full coupon policy here

Thanks, CouponConnectionsNW for the Rimmel coupons!
